Old Stuff – New Photos

The Zorki and the Lens was made around 1940, so that part was over 60 years old. The light meter I used was made during the 70s, so that’s another 30-40 years. Newest film was the Orwo 125, being an Ilford Fp4 (no +), it was also fairly old, introduced 1968. Same can be said about the developer, Rodinal isn’t the newest formula on the market. But I can say I’m pleased with the results. Its just fun to use it. Just have to check focusing more often with that setup.

He was pretty funny and always posed for me.

Good thing about walking thru the city, you met a lot of interesting people.

 

This was some sort of art installation for the EM.

Working with wood

The 2nd film turned out way better then the one pushed to 1600. I know TMax 400 does ISO 1600 nicely, but not the last time. At 400 its great again. I needed some test frames at the end, so this was basically just a 28 picture film.

It was quite a rainy day and since I wanted some photos taken in the rain, I walked to university. 

Someone left those shoes on the front of a old trailer. Looks no one was in any of them for quite some time.

Now of to the inner city, it was easter market time. And since I got no good photo of the woodcarver there I took a few more this time. And some even look ok

Faster is not always better

  This time, the faster film really let me down.  I have no idea why, but for some reason the TMax 400 @ 1600 cam out way underexposed, even when I developed it longer then the XTol paper said. Odd, I have no explanation for this. Maybe some of you do. Michis 2 APX 400 we developer before that looked very good, also the other TMax 400 I did after this. Time was ok, movement was ok and temperature too. Anyway here are the few bad photos.

BarCamp and more

Michi came over for some developing today, so I set up my Lab and we developed 5 rolls of film today, 3 from him and 2 from me. First one was from BarCamp, 2nd just some snapshooting. Sadly, XTOL seams to loose to much power in its second shot, so I think I won’t use it a 2nd time again in future. Otherwise, its great.

From now on, Tmax 400@800 with 2nd shot XTOL. Way underdeveloped because I calculated the developer wrong, since I do rotation developing now.  Never will do 2nd-shots with XTOL again.

More films from my first processing experiment. Both films weren’t as good as the other one, the HP5 was from the Yashica, and it sadly has some spots from light leeks, the APX was either underexposed or underdeveloped, maybe a mixture of both. Still have to finetune my developing process.

BarCamp Senza Confini 2008

This weekend I attended the BarCamp at our University. Great fun, met a lot of people there and  learned a lot new stuff. And also, I had the chance to play with my new 75/2,5 lens a bit. Great lens, wonderful bokeh and very sharp too. Will have a lot of fun with it

Only problem, focus has to be spot on, so I have to train a little bit more with that lens.  Also, I could test my rotation processor with it.
